Which weatherman is this sleeve from? After almost 70 years it is clear

A hand, a sleeve and a voice, that’s all there was to see from the first weather presenters on television. Yesterday, in the context of 70 years of television in the Netherlands, we showed how the first weather reports were made. In the NOS News of 8 p.m. Gerrit Hiemstra mentioned the name of weatherman Joop den Tonkelaar in a fragment of that time, who would have been on display. But shortly after the broadcast, his daughter reported: it wasn’t him.

It is now clear that the weatherman in question was Herman Buddingh. “His voice could be heard when drawing on the weather map,” son Joost Buddingh told NOS after pointing out the error. “It’s very clear the voice I recognize, and the intonations. That’s how he spoke.”
