If you are planning to visit the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Top of the Rock Observatory, the September 11, 2001 Museum or any other place or museum in New York, you should definitely book a Before You Go New York Pass: These packages include admission to multiple locations, for a much cheaper price than if you had to pay for your tickets at the regular price each time. With the passes, you are always a winner!
You are all the more profitable as some passes also offer you skip-the-line access to certain places. A great way to walk past everyone and avoid wasting your time waiting. Here, for each pass, the skip-the-line access that is included.

The New York City Pass is a pass that includes entry to 6 must-see places and museums in New York for a really good price: Statue of Liberty or Circle Line cruise, Empire State Building, Top of the Rock OR Guggenheim Museum, museum of natural history, National Museum of September 11, 2001 OR Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Here are the skip-the-line tickets that are included:

  • Statue of Liberty : Once you have presented your pass at the cashier in Castle Clinton, take the special “pass” lane for the Statue of Liberty security passage.
  • Empire State Building : After going through security, the New York City Pass allows you to use a special lane for pass holders. This allows you to avoid waiting in line with all the tourists who do not have entrance tickets. However, no skip-the-line access to the elevators and the ascent.
  • Top of the Rock : like at the Empire State building, the New York City Pass gives you access to a special line reserved for pass holders. This allows you to avoid the queue of tourists who do not have tickets. However, no skip-the-line access to the elevators and the ascent.

Explorer Pass and Explorer Pass à la carte

L’Explorer Pass works in a different way from other passes: this time you choose precisely a certain number of places and attractions that you want to see.
With l’Explorer Pass, you can choose 3, 4, 5, 7 or 10 visits from a list of about fifty attractions in New York. No need to choose immediately what you want to see: you only choose the total number of visits. Then, once in New York, you can visit the attractions of your choice at your leisure. If you have booked the Explorer Pass for 7 visits, you will be able to make 7 visits. If you have chosen the Explorer Pass 10 visits, you can take 10 visits. You choose the number of visits!
With l’Explorer Pass à la carte, you choose precisely the visits you want to make and you will not be able to change them. It is an even more precise operation.
The Explorer Pass and the à la carte Explorer Pass give you access to the same skip-the-line access:

  • Statue of Liberty : Once you have presented your pass at the cashier in Castle Clinton, take the special “pass” lane for the Statue of Liberty security passage.
  • Empire State Building : After going through security, Explorer Passes allow you to take a special line for pass holders. This allows you to avoid waiting in line with all the tourists who do not have entrance tickets. However, no skip-the-line access to the elevators and the ascent.
  • Top of the Rock : access to a special line reserved for pass holders. This allows you to avoid the queue of tourists who do not have tickets. However, no skip-the-line access to the elevators and the ascent.
  • Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum : present your Explorer Pass at the VIP counters.

New York Sightseeing Flex Pass

The New York Sightseeing Flex Pass is the direct competitor of the Explorer Pass. It works on the same principle: you choose the number of visits you want to make, from 2 to 10, from a list of almost 70 attractions. Once in New York, you can then make your visits, within the limit of the number of visits chosen. It’s exactly like the Explorer Pass!
The New York Sightseeing Flex Pass also offers you skip-the-line access:

  • Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum : present your Explorer Pass at the VIP counters.
  • Madame Tussauds : present your New York Pass at the Fast Track counters.
  • Musée Ripley’s Believe it or Not! : present your New York Pass at the Fast Track counters.
  • Gulliver’s Gate Museum: present your New York Pass at the Fast Track counters.
