Sugar Mountain Resort and Cataloochee Ski Area are some of six ski areas in the state, which will be open to the public this weekend.
Which North Carolina slopes will open for winter sports?

At 125 skiable acres, Sugar Mountain is North Carolina’s largest winter resort, featuring the state’s only black diamond double run and a high-speed detachable six-seater chairlift.
Joining the range of lifts for 2022-23, the Oma’s Meadow Chairlift is a high-speed, detachable four-seater Doppelmayr lift that cuts journey time from nine minutes to just over two minutes.
Lessons are available at snow sports schools for adults and children.
