Apple announces its latest operating software every summer to upgrade its devices. However, every year, some users don’t make the cut and have to face disappointment. This year’s iPadOS is no different. According to a French site, iPhonesoft, which has a good record of predicting iOS compatibility, three iPads, namely the iPad 5th generation, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 1st generation, and iPad Pro 9.7-inch, will not make it to the next software. The reason for items dropping off the list is due to their processors, the A9X chip in this case. For those curious which iPads will run iPadOS 17, the list includes the iPad 6th generation, iPad 7th generation, iPad 8th generation, iPad 9th generation, and the latest, 10th-generation iPad, as well as the iPad mini 5th and 6th generations, and the iPad Air 3rd, 4th, and 5th generations. However, unsupported iPads will still carry on working as before, but they won’t receive future updates. There is still room for more information, as all will be revealed in Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), starting on Monday, June 5.
