The CIRP today publishes a new report on the iPad. In addition to detailing which Apple tablet is the most popular, the new data shows how often cellular models are sold versus Wi-Fi ones.
The CIRP takes note his new report that while it’s easy to focus on the iPhone, Apple also impressively dominates the tablet market. And unlike smartphones, Apple created the tablet market by launching the original iPad in 2010.
Most popular iPad
The iPad Pro (considering both 11″ and 12.9″ models) is the most popular, accounting for nearly 44% of respondents.
The 10.2-inch iPad came in second with 26% and the iPad Air third with 19%.
An important thing to consider is that this data is from the third quarter, i.e. before Apple launched the Brand new iPad 10 with a larger full-screen design, USB-C and more.
Another interesting data point showed that WiFi vs Cellular enabled models were nearly a 50/50 split.
It will be interesting to see what this data looks like after Q4 with the new iPad 10 in the mix. It brings many of the features people love about the iPad Pro to Apple’s most affordable tablet.
