which events are held in June?

They are canceled

Le Souffle de la source in Amnéville (June 6), the Foulées de Far in Farébersviller (June 13), the 10 km from Tucquegnieux (June 13), the Foulées de Saint-Hubert in Gandrange (June 27) or even la Cunésienne in Laquenexy (June 20). In June, a majority of organizers preferred to cancel the 2021 edition because of the sanitary conditions and especially the cumbersome protocols to be put in place. “We are a small association”, supports Hamid Meziani (Foulées de Far). “It would have been far too complicated to set up. ” Sure the calendar of races outside the stadium in Moselle June is usually a “strong” month, but this year only three races in traditional format should be maintained. It’s pretty much the same in Meurthe-et-Moselle, where there are also quite a few cancellations.

Others have opted for a plan B, a virtual race which makes it possible to overcome the health protocol while maintaining a link with all the runners used to competing in the event. This is the case, for example, of the Trail de Dabo, which is already the 11th edition this year. Originally scheduled for Sunday June 27, the event has been transformed into an e-trail, each runner thus has ten days (from June 17 to 27) to complete his course and be classified using his connected watch or via an app on his smartphone.

They are maintained

The semi of Thionville

On Sunday June 6, this could be the very first non-stadium race organized in Lorraine in 2021. Initially scheduled for Sunday April 18, the Thionville half-marathon, which each year attracts nearly 2,000 participants over its two races, the 10 km and the 21 km, has been judiciously postponed for a few weeks. The WHO of Thionville, which is organizing the event, has provided for a strict protocol and hopes to be able to obtain the approval of the administrative authorities in the coming weeks.

The Saint-Quentin Trail

The Trail du Saint-Quentin, which should be the 16th edition this year near Plappeville, launched its registrations on March 15 for its two events, a 16 and a 30 km. Lack of supplies, wearing a mask at the start and immediately upon arrival, staggered departures: the protocol promises to be strict and the number of runners has been capped: 500 over the 16 km and 250 over the 30 km. The appointment is made for Sunday June 13.

La Run’Range

In Rurange-lès-Thionville, the organizers had registered more than 260 registrations just 48 hours after their opening to the public! The event scheduled for Saturday June 19 should therefore refuel on the 10 km, the semi as well as the youth races. “For adults, we have limited to 600 runners in all,” says Sébastien Spir, the organization’s boss. While many volunteers threw in the towel elsewhere, in Rurange, “we always acted as if the race was going to take place” and we relied on the experience of the Hemera Trail which had managed to maintain its flagship event. in September 2020 thanks to a strict protocol.
