Whether you are a celebrity or not, Twitter will delete your account if you parody without specifying it

Elon Musk said Twitter users who use parody accounts without clearly specifying that they will be permanently suspended.

Twitter had a warning policy prior to any suspension, but the suspension will now be systematic, it announced.

This is perhaps due to all these spoof accounts aimed at making fun of the billionaire and which were immediately suspended without consideration, according to the BBC.

Displaying the new parody account policy, Musk tweeted: “We previously issued a warning before the suspension, but now that we’re implementing widespread verification, there will be no warning.” He added that “any name change will result in the temporary loss of the verified tick”.

Despite everything, after indicating that humor had its place on Twitter, Elon Musk today wanted to confirm the house’s new policy on parody accounts.

Also note that various certified accounts have enjoyed “parodying” Elon Musk by changing his name / surname and profile picture, such as Sarah Silverman or Kathy Griffin, the latter having immediately suspended her account.

Mr. Musk also said he opposes the permanent bans on Twitter, including that of Trump’s official account. Mr. Musk said last week that banned accounts would not be restored until there was “a clear process for unblocking”.
