Where you are most likely to be robbed at home – idealista / news

Households suffer millions of accidents each year that require insurance assistance. According to data from the Unespa employers’ association, In 2019, almost 8.7 million problems were recorded in homes and neighborhood communities. Specifically, 7.4 million incidents occurred in individual homes and 1.27 million in communities of owners.

On average, the insurance sector solves every hour 1,004 problems that occur in homes and communities of owners in Spain.

The most common of all is related to water damage and is the appearance of leaks, which accounted for more than a third of the mishaps in that year, with 3,297 million. The next most frequent claims that appear on the list are that of glass damage, with 1.23 million ads; the assistance services, with 1.04 million; and the electrical damage, with more than 753,500 parts. In the case of robberies, the study counts the number of mishaps at more than 384,000, the vast majority of which affected individual dwellings (more than 357,000), representing 4.4% of total incidents.

Municipalities with more and less probability of being robbed

Although Unespa has not yet presented the data for all of 2020, it does have estimates for part of the year of the pandemic. And it states that more than 78,000 robbery-related mishaps occurred between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020, weighed down by the decline in incidents during the first state of alarm.

By communities, the insurance employer affirms that Catalonia is the region most likely to suffer a robbery at home (58% more than in Spain as a whole), followed by Murcia (46%) and Comunidad Valenciana (11%); that is to say, on the Mediterranean coast, where a good part of the second residences is concentrated.

Instead, in Andalusia, Madrid or the Balearic Islands the probability is lower to the national average, while Galicia, Asturias, the Canary Islands and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla are the areas of the country with the least probability of suffering this type of mishap.
