Brazil faces Argentina tomorrow (10), in Rio de Janeiro, in a game worth the Copa América title. The dispute for the gold medal between Argentina x Brazil takes place at 9 pm (GMT) and will be broadcast live on open TV on SBT and on closed TV on ESPN Brasil. Also, the Scoreboard UOL tracks in real time.
The two favorites face off in the tournament final after being placed first in their groups. The Argentine team, leader of Group A, advanced to the knockout with 10 points, adding three victories and a draw. The Argentinians overcame Ecuador 3-0 in the quarter-finals and left Colombia behind in the semi-final in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
The Brazilian team also had 10 points, with three wins and one draw, to lead Group B. In the quarterfinals they beat Chile 1-0. In the semifinals, the Brazilians overcame Peru by the same scoreboard.
The last time Brazil and Argentina met in deciding an edition of the Copa América was in 2007, when the Brazilian team won 3-0 and won the title. Brazil won the last edition of the tournament, in 2019, beating Peru 2-1 in the final. Argentina’s last victory was only in 1993, against Mexico.
Tite will not have Gabriel Jesus, suspended after expulsion in the quarterfinals, available for the game this Saturday (10). Alex Sandro, who is recovering from injury, was on the field in the last practice, but the expectation is that Renan Lodi will be the starting left-back. The City Hall of Rio de Janeiro authorized 10% of the audience at Maracanã for the final, the only match of the Copa America that will have the presence of the fans.
