The time has come to get rid of your Christmas tree which has become cumbersome at the end of the holidays. The good idea to give a second life to your tree: opt for recycling.
In recycling centers
If according to the town hall of Chartres “nothing is organized to recover the trees”, the inhabitants will be able to deposit the trees, in the various waste reception centers around, as for other vegetable waste.

At collection points
The municipalities of the agglomeration of Chartres have made collection bins available to residents. The trees must be placed in their natural state, without decoration, without artificial snow and without having been cut.
Once the harvest is complete, the conifers will be crushed and transformed into wood chips to make mulch, then placed on the plantations and shrubs of the municipality to protect the soil.

The other options
For trees in pots or roots and for those who have a green thumb and a minimum of space in their garden, it is possible to replant your Christmas tree at home, provided you have a minimum of green fingers and enough of space.
In an equally ecological approach, the fir tree, when it decomposes, can be used for composting, like other plants.
Donations of Christmas trees for animals are flocking to the zoo-refuge La Tanière in Nogent-le-Phaye!
As a reminder, it is forbidden to replant your tree in a public forest or to leave your tree on the public highway, under penalty of receiving a fine ranging from 35 to 150 euros.
