AT the approach of the end of the year holidays and faced with an increased circulation of the Covid-19, it is preferable to be tested in case of doubt. But where and how? Here are some answers with an interactive map for RT-PCR testing and antigen testing. We give you the address of the Besançon laboratories open, even on Sundays …

First question : RT-PCR or Antigen test? The answer is simple.
The following people should be supported only by RT-PCR :
- contact persons;
- symptomatic when symptoms are more than 4 days old;
- asymptomatic people (except collective targeted screening to find a cluster or recommendation from the healthcare professional).
Second question to ask yourself before performing an RT-PCR test: are you a priority? The response will determine the location of the laboratory, its hours and the speed of treatment.
Priority people for diagnosis within 24 hours
These priority people must have an examination within 24 hours and a result within 24 hours.
- People with medical prescription, people with symptoms compatible with COVID-19 or even “contact” subjects, in particular those contacted by the CNAM or the ARS within the framework of the contact-tracing procedures and the contact persons informed by the TousAntiCovid application.
- Health professionals and the like intervening at home. As a reminder, health professionals working in a health establishment or in a medico-social establishment must have priority access to a test within their parent structure.
- National education professionals and the like, working in schools, colleges and high schools, whether they come under the State civil service or the territorial civil service (ATSEM and technical staff, workers and service)
People who do not have priority for the Covid-19 test for screening
People can get tested, but are not given priority. The reporting of results depends on the laboratory’s ability to process the results for priority patients within the time limits.

Where to perform an antigen test?
The price of antigenic tests in pharmacies is 34 euros but it is 100% reimbursed by health insurance. There is therefore no advance on costs. These tests can be carried out in medical biology laboratories, pharmacies, airports and general practitioners.
A pharmacist can perform these tests outside the premises of his pharmacy, but with the authorization of the prefect.
A doctor, a dental surgeon, a midwife, a pharmacist, a physiotherapist or a nurse can perform an antigen test and many other health professionals, but under the responsibility of a doctor, pharmacist or of a nurse.
The list of pharmacies and volunteer caregivers is available on the “TousAntiCovid” application

- An antigen test detects the presence of the virus or fragments of the coronavirus. It is similar to a pregnancy test. Like the RT-PCR test, the sample is taken from the nostrils (nasopharyngeal).
