Where Sex Workers Make ‘Halal’ Money

Jakarta

OnlyFans has become a billion dollar business thanks to sex workers. Since its launch in 2016, this subscription-exclusive content sharing site has become a haven for porn stars, aspiring adult artists, or exhibitionists who want to cash in on their ‘body’.

Many say that the website, which was founded by British entrepreneur Timothy Stokely, has given sex workers the opportunity to earn ‘halal’ income, meaning that they simply fulfill the audience’s fantasy, without having to have sex.

Now the website will ban sexual and pornographic content on the site. This is done to make it easier for OnlyFans to get financial support.

Reporting from 9 News Australia, Sunday (22/8/2021), a content creator OnlyFans Maya Morena said this exclusive content sharing site has changed her life drastically. Morena, who was originally a real sex worker, now doesn’t need to meet her clients again and earns income from OnlyFans.

Morena says she has built up popularity on OnlyFans for over 4 years while still doing live commercial sex work. During the pandemic he decided to only focus on sharing his sexy content on OnlyFans.

He says so far, the proceeds from OnlyFans have helped him pay for his college education and meet all the rent he has to pay each month.

“During COVID-19, I actually stopped full-service sex work completely because it became too dangerous. (The pandemic) was the best month I had at OnlyFans,” Morena said.

Now Morena admits that she is annoyed and a little frustrated with the latest announcement by OnlyFans which rejects sexual and pornographic content. Morena said she had experienced something like this before.
