Where love lives in the brain: scientists answer

When scientists studied how the brain reacts to love for animals, they noticed something interesting: how certain parts of the brain can work out whether a person has a pet or not. For those who live with a four-legged friend, these parts of the brain work more actively. To test participants’ reactions, they were read the following statement: “You are at home, lying on the bed, and your pet cat comes to you. The cat curls up next to you and purrs sleepily. You love your pet.”
