At the age of 34, the Brazilian footballer Marcelo decided to return to the Rio de Janeiro club Fluminese, where he started his professional playing career in 2005. The former long-time Real Madrid defender has been without a club employer since mid-February.
Marcelo played for Fluminese from 2005 to 2007. He then moved to the big club in Madrid, where he spent 15 years and won many trophies, including six triumphs in the Spanish La Liga and five victories in the Champions League. He has been working in Greek Olympiakos since last September and signed a contract with Fluminese on Friday. “Back to where it all began” the dpa agency quoted the Brazilian’s reaction.
