It’s getting hot in Germany: From mid-July, temperatures are expected to rise to up to 40 degrees in some places. It is expected to be particularly hot in North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and western Bavaria in particular. On summer days, the thermometer likes to climb above 30 degrees. Here are a few handy tips to cool off.
This is how the forecasts look for the period of the predicted heat wave from Wednesday (July 20) to Tuesday (July 26) in detail according to wetter.com out:
Baden-Wuerttemberg (Stuttgart): In Stuttgart, the temperatures rise to up to 35 degrees with up to 14 hours of sunshine per day.
Bavaria (Würzburg): Temperatures between 26 and 37 degrees are expected in western Bavaria. Up to 14 hours of sunshine daily.
Bayern Munich): In the south of the country it can get hot up to 35 degrees, for example in the state capital Munich.
Berlin: In the federal capital it can get hot up to 38 degrees. Temperatures will only fall below 30 degrees again on Friday. Including a few days between 24 and 28 degrees with slightly cloudy weather.
Brandenburg (Potsdam): The people of Brandenburg can expect 22 to 38 degrees and up to 14 hours of sunshine. In Brandenburg, too, the air will only cool down slightly from Thursday.
Bremen: In Bremen, similarly large temperature differences are expected between 21 and 37 degrees, on some days clouds and light rain showers, but on Wednesday up to 15 hours of sunshine.
Hamburg: In Hamburg, peak temperatures of 40 degrees could be reached on Wednesday. On Thursday the temperature will drop to 23 degrees – with light rain showers and wind.
Hessen (Frankfurt am Main): In Frankfurt am Main, the temperatures should remain constantly high between 28 and 38 degrees (on Wednesday). Up to 13 hours of sunshine are expected.
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Rostock): In Rostock, the temperatures remain mostly between 21 and 37 degrees (on Wednesday). In addition, there should be a lot of clouds and fewer hours of sunshine.
Mecklenburg-West Pomerania (Sassnitz on Rügen): It should be less hot in Sassnitz on the island of Rügen: 20 to a maximum of 28 degrees are forecast, up to 16 hours of sunshine a day and slightly cloudy weather with occasional rain showers.
Lower Saxony (Hanover): 23 to 39 degrees in Hanover. It will often be partly cloudy. Stormy gusts threaten on Wednesday.
Lower Saxony (Cuxhaven): It remains comparatively mild on the coast of Lower Saxony: the temperatures are between 18 and 31 degrees with up to a maximum of 16 hours of sunshine on Tuesday, but otherwise often cloudy.

North Rhine-Westphalia (Cologne): In Cologne, temperatures will remain between 25 and 32 degrees, and up to 11 hours of sunshine have been announced.
Rhineland-Palatinate (Koblenz): In Koblenz, the temperatures should remain between 25 and 33 degrees, it will be sunny, with some light clouds.

Schleswig-Holstein (Flensburg): In Flensburg, on the other hand, it will be changeable: The temperatures remain at a mild 19 to 35 degrees. Between six and 15 hours of sunshine a day and cloudy to cloudy weather with wind.
Schleswig-Holstein (Sankt-Peter-Ording): With 18 to 28 degrees, it will also remain mild on the coast of Schleswig-Holstein. But there are also many clouds there on most days.
Thuringia (Erfurt): Between 24 and 38 degrees are forecast for Erfurt, up to 13 hours of sunshine a day, but often light clouds.
