The Florida police resumed the search for the friend of the killed Gabby Petito on Wednesday. On the fourth day, action teams combed a 9,700-hectare nature reserve near Sarasota, which Brian Laundrie said his parents said to have set off. In the partly impassable area with alligators and snakes, there are also campsites and more than 160 kilometers of hiking trails. A police diving unit was also called in to search for Laundrie.
The FBI federal police announced on Sunday that a body had been found on the edge of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The dead is said to be 22-year-old Petito, who was reported missing by her parents on September 11th. Forensic medicine classified the case as a homicide. How Petito died was initially not disclosed. The 23-year-old Laundrie is considered a “person of interest” in the case.
Petito and Laundrie set out in a van on a national park tour in the western United States in July. They argued along the way. They posted a lot on social media about the trip; but the reports broke off abruptly. On September 1, police said Laundrie returned in the van to his parents’ home in North Port without Petito.
