Where is he and what is his career – CHIC Magazine

Although in Mexico we have been affected by tropical storm Alberto and hurricanes Beryl and John this 2024, unfortunately the cyclone season It is not over yet and, therefore, the danger remains imminent.

This week, the institutions that monitor meteorological phenomena have turned their attention to the formation of the tormenta tropical Kirk in the Atlantic Ocean. But is it a danger for Mexico? Keep reading and find out the details about his career.

The formation of Tropical Storm Kirk

He National Meteorological Service (SMN) recently reported that Tropical Depression Number Twelve has intensified into Tropical Storm Kirk in the eastern Atlantic Ocean.

The most recent forecasts of the National Hurricane Center or NHC for its acronym in English, suggest that Tropical Storm Kirk could continue to strengthen as it moves across the Atlantic.

In fact, there is a chance it could reach hurricane status by Wednesday morning, when it is expected to begin moving northwest. Forecasters have also warned that in about five days, Kirk could become a hurricane of great magnitude.

The NHC is closely monitoring Kirk’s trajectory and evolution to evaluate its possible impact on areas in its path. While it is early to make definitive predictions about which regions will be most affected, the agency does not rule out that the storm could intensify significantly before reaching inhabited areas of the country. Caribbean or the Gulf of Mexico.

Track of Tropical Storm Kirk

The center of Tropical Storm Kirk is currently located about 1,195 kilometers west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, at the eastern end of the Atlantic, and about 5,565 kilometers east of the coast of Quintana Roo, Mexico.

This considerable distance is key to determining the level of concern that this storm could generate in the country, since, for the moment, its location and trajectory They do not pose an immediate danger for Mexican territory.

With maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gusts that reach 100 kilometers per hourKirk is moving west at a constant speed of 19 kilometers per hour.

According to the NHC, which closely monitors this phenomenon, Kirk is expected to continue its westward motion over the next few days as it continues to gain strength.

How Tropical Storm Kirk will affect Mexico

Despite the concern generated by any tropical cyclone, meteorological authorities have been clear in their initial evaluation: Kirk does not represent an immediate danger to Mexico, especially given his remoteness and current trajectory, which keeps him away from Mexican shores.

Experts agree that, if this trend continues, it is unlikely that Tropical Storm Kirk will make landfall in Mexican territory. However, it is important to note that weather conditions can change de munpredictableand Kirk is no exception.

As it moves west and then possibly turns northwest, authorities will keep a close eye on any changes in its course that could bring it closer to the region.

The state of Quintana Roolocated in southeastern Mexico and known for its vulnerability to hurricanes and tropical storms, is a considerable distance from the current center of the storm. At the moment, the rain and winds associated with Kirk are not expected to affect the state, but constant monitoring is crucial to ensure that any changes are detected in enough time to implement preventive measures if necessary.
