North Carolina, Charlotte – A total of 2,659 Colombians who are registered to vote at the polling station in Charlotte, will be able to vote in the second round of the 2022 Colombian presidential elections on Sunday, June 19.

Where Colombians in the Carolinas can vote early

Colombians who are registered to vote will be able to do so in advance for a week from Monday June 13 to Saturday June 18, at the consular headquarters, or at “satellite” sites adjacent to the consulates.

In the case of Colombians who reside in North Carolina and vote in Charlotte, they will be able to go to the consular headquarters in Atlanta to vote early during this week or attend the voting station in Charlotte on Sunday.

Information for people who registered the ID and do not appear registered

The Colombian Consulate in Atlanta is reporting in its website that there were people who registered the identity card, but they are not registered.

“We suggest that you verify the information on the Registry page because we have had situations that, despite being registered in Atlanta, now appear in Washington,” it is indicated.

The consulate said that, if that is the case, the person must send an email reporting the situation with a screenshot of the Registry page where said information is observed. You can write to: [email protected]

“Remember that, if you registered your ID to vote at the consulate, you must have your citizenship ID and the ID registration strip that we gave you the day you registered your ID. (Only applies to people who registered for the first time and are not listed on the Registry page).

Colombians registered in Charlotte

According to the ballot lists of the four tables in the Charlotte polling station that is part of the jurisdiction of the Colombian Consulate in Atlanta (Georgia), in tables 1, 2 and 3, 694 voters will be able to vote in each one, while that at table 4 there are 577 Colombians registered.

As the National Registry of Civil Status of Colombia has been announcing, only Colombians who registered their identity card for the presidential elections until the deadline, which was March 29, will be able to vote.

Colombians in the Carolinas will be able to vote with the yellow card with holograms or the new digital card, these being the only valid documents to vote.

In the last first-round presidential elections on May 29, 1,218 voters voted in Charlotte, one of the highest votes recorded in this polling station. According to the poll results, 46% of registered voters went to the polls.
