At the beginning of the pandemic, out of fear or ignorance, many people who used to donate blood voluntarily stopped doing so. However, the dissemination of the protocols that were implemented in all the centers so that people can continue to collaborate without putting their health at risk, caused the number to grow once again in 2021.
On world blood donor day we believe it is important to refresh the information on current measures so that all those who want to help continue saving lives know where and how to do it.
Both in Capital and in Greater Buenos Aires, the authorities have reorganized the schemes to guarantee everyone’s safety. First, a system of tunos was made available to donate blood, avoiding the crowding of people in the same place. They can be taken by phone, by mail or through the donArg platform.
In addition, a special schedule was established within the framework of “World Blood Donor Day” with fixed posts that volunteers can approach. (Check here)
