Cheongdo-gun, located in the southernmost part of Gyeongbuk, is so close that it is no exaggeration to say that it is surrounded by areas such as Ulsan, Daegu, Miryang, Busan, Gyeongju, and Pohang. Thanks to this, Cheongdo is a great answer when you want to spend some quiet time away from the busy city center.
Cheongdo Plant Cafe, Soumou In Cheongdo, there is no shortage of cafe tours. This seems to be the reason why the number of visitors has increased because it is geographically close to several cities.
Cafes in Hwayang-eup and Deoknam have strong unique characteristics, including cafes with aesthetically beautiful buildings themselves, book cafes that are comparable to libraries, cafes with plants as their theme, and cafes that actively use Cheongdo bansi in their menus. Cheongdo’s cafes are most concentrated in the central area, Hwayang-eup and Cheongdo-eup.
A glass of bansi wine in Cheongdo
Seedless Cheongdo banshee is famous for its moisture and high sugar content. The red brick tunnel that maintains a temperature of 13 to 15 degrees Celsius also plays a role in why Banshee wine is delicious.
Cheongdo Wine Tunnel The tunnel, which was completed in 1898 at the end of the Korean Empire, has been operated as a cultural and tourist facility equipped with a wine aging cellar and a wine cafe since 2006. Cheongdo is the only place in the world where you can taste wine made from banshee. The reporter tasted the special wine at the wine tunnel and was impressed by its sweet and smooth taste.

The Saemaeul Movement started right here.
The Saemaeul Movement, which began in 1970, was a large-scale rural enlightenment movement that began in Sindori Village, Cheongdo-eup.
Cheongdo-eup, Sindori Village In the summer of 1969, the residents of Sindori Village worked together to restore embankments and repair the main road to recover from flood damage. The late President Park Chung-hee, who happened to be visiting the flood-hit area, was impressed by this. The following year, the Saemaeul Movement was implemented nationwide.
Saemaul Movement Birthplace Memorial Park, Singeo Station The Saemaul Movement Birthplace Memorial Park was created in the Sindori Village area to commemorate this history. It is as if you have traveled back in time as it is equipped with a presidential train, Saemaul Education Experience Center, Saemaul District Market, Saemaul Silgaecheon, communal laundry, and Saemaeul Daechon, an accommodation facility.
Saemaeul Movement Birthplace Memorial Park, Singeo Station Whether it was the will within me or the cheering garden outside, the dawn bell rang and a new morning dawned. I try to find the strength to stand up again.
