The general director of the Prague transport company Petr Witowski (54) is allegedly among the thirteen detained people who have been charged by the National Headquarters against Organized Crime. Because of the police intervention, the director should resign immediately, said Prague’s deputy mayor for transport Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) at a Monday morning press conference. If he doesn’t do it, Hřib will propose his dismissal.
“According to information from the media, it appears that it is a project of a complex subway security system that dates back to 2010, the contract was signed in June, i.e. in the last months of the government of former mayor Pavel Bém. It is probably a branch of the Dosimeter and the completion of some burials of this case,” said Hřib.
According to him, an audit of KBS was carried out in 2019 and the Pirates in the supervisory board drew attention to the problematic nature of the project. “Mr. Witowski was supposed to finish it, but he obviously didn’t do it right, that’s why I consider his immediate resignation, and if he doesn’t do it, I’ll propose his dismissal again. I believe that this time it will also have the support of other members of the transport company,” said Hřib, alluding to the fact that in the past he had unsuccessfully proposed Witowski’s dismissal.

“Currently, a meeting of the supervisory board of the transport company is scheduled for 15 days, that is the latest date when I will propose his dismissal from the position of chairman of the board. If Witowski is charged, we will try to speed it up, but the legal deadline must be observed,” added Hřib.
