When will the mandatory veils return? The government is discussing measures for coronavirus

The Ministry of Education is waiting for a meeting of the Government Council, which will then send out information manuals to school principals. They have only two weeks to prepare for the beginning of the school year. According to the government, there is no danger of further general school closures. He wants to control their operation on the basis of a regional traffic light.

The National Sports Agency is preparing similar manuals for sports clubs. Along with the return of children to schools, hygienists expect a greater load on public transport, and thus the spread of disease. In the future, it is possible that the government will step forward again to tighten the conditions for wearing veils.

According to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jana Maláčová (ČSSD), one of the topics of discussion will be the protection of seniors and other vulnerable groups. The Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek (ČSSD) will also take part in the Government Council.

His interest is to set new conditions for organizers of cultural events. Zaorálek has previously warned that holding large events with more than 1,000 people will probably still be impossible in the autumn. On the contrary, the organizers are calling for the measures to be relaxed.

It is also possible to shorten the period of compulsory quarantine. Experts agree that the isolation period should be reduced from the current two weeks to 10 days. Prime Minister Babiš also agrees with the proposal.

Another point of the government’s meeting will be changes in the voting system in the October regional and senate elections. Citizens who are in quarantine will probably be able to participate. The amendment to the law provides for the possibility of voting by car, the establishment of constituencies in closed homes for the elderly and exit commissions.

According to the proposal, members of election and census commissions should also see an increase in remuneration by 500 crowns. The creation of special election commissions should cost about 9.5 million crowns. Rewards for another 56 million crowns. Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová (for YES) calculated this year’s election budget at 450 million crowns. That’s almost 150 million more than four years ago.
