After an unusual fifth edition, not only longer than usual, but full of events unprecedented in the history of the competition, Exatlon USA reaches its final ceremony, which will last three and a half hours next Monday, August 23. at 19 ‘o clock. / 6c on Telemundo, this will be the moment when two competitors are crowned champions of the fifth season.
Many athletes injured, expelled, others sanctioned and even notorious breaches of contract have made the fifth installment of the so-called “fiercest competition on the planet” a private competition, where we discovered new modalities like the “Exa Store”, where participants exchanged their medals for points to acquire consumer goods necessary for their time in the competition, as well as the dreaded “urban circuit”, which resembled a convulsed city where each athlete had to solve different challenges that would lead to success.
After 30 weeks of intense competition which began with the arrival of 24 athletes, a man and a woman will triumph over their physical and mental capacities in the fiercest sporting competition on the planet when they receive the title, the trophy and the coveted grand prize of $ 200,000 dollars for each. Hosted by Frederik Oldenburg, with Marisela “Chelly” Cantú as sports commentator, the closing ceremony will have a special component, with the presence of relatives of the finalists to support their loved ones during a night that promises to enter the story.
In reference to Frederik Oldenburg, the Venezuelan sports journalist was one of the additions of the fifth season of Exatlon USA, since after the sudden resignation of Erasmus Provenza, Oldenburg took the reins, concluding the competition successfully.
The 10 athletes who reached the last week to compete for the final grand prix include the names who from the start have positioned themselves as the strongest: Ana Maria Parra, Andoni Garcia, Diana Juárez, Jacobo Garcia, Jeyvier Cintrón, Kelvin Renteria, Nathalia Sanchez, Norma Palafox, Octavio González and Viviana Michel. This week, they are already giving everything in their fight to secure one of the six places in the semi-finals of the sports competition which will be broadcast this Sunday, August 22 from 7 p.m. / 6c.
The fifth season of Exatlon USA presented strong contenders, some new and some returning for a second chance, as part of the Famous Team (Red Team) and the Contesting Team (Blue Team). Athletes faced incredible never-before-seen circuits and nightly obstacles that put their physical and mental abilities to the test in search of over $ 1 million in prizes throughout the competition, in addition to the coveted title of champion.
