In all religions and beliefs, there will be an apocalypse one day. However, scientists have predicted that in the future the earth will no longer be livable. Gradually, humans will become extinct.
Health and environmental journalist Donavyn Coffey writes in Live Science that currently, the sun is a very important source of gravity and energy. However, one day, the sun will be the cause of the earth’s destruction.
“How long will it take for the earth to be absorbed by the sun? Estimates are several billion years away. But life on earth will end much sooner than that,” Coffey wrote in Live Science.
Experts predict that the earth will no longer be habitable for most organisms in the next 1.3 billion years. Humans could potentially drive themselves—and many other species—to extinction in the next few centuries. The catastrophe comes from the rate of climate change or the consequences of nuclear war.
A planetary scientist from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Ravi Kopparapu told Live Science, the earth probably has another 4.5 billion years before the sun becomes a huge giant and swallows it. The giant sun formed in the final stages of stellar evolution, when stars ran out of hydrogen for nuclear fusion fuel and began to die.
