Jesus suffered a knee injury while strengthening Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in. The 25-year-old striker then returned to London and underwent surgery.

“The recovery process is not long in coming. I don’t want to give benchmarks, but he is doing certain things with the team and outside the team,” Arteta said as quoted from Arsenal’s official website.
“He won’t be in the near future, but not for too long either. He feels better every day and the doctors are confident with the progress of his injury. We are in a good period with him,” Arteta continued.
Arteta admitted that at first he was very worried about Jesus’ injury. After learning all the details of the striker’s injury, Arteta did not panic.
“Thankfully it wasn’t too bad, but it was a long term injury, required surgery and it wasn’t (fun), especially the first few weeks. But knowing Gaby, she’s had it before. Her mentality has been outstanding and the team have done a very good job getting her into the its current position,” he said.
Arsenal are currently still at the top of the Premier League standings. The London cannon is five points ahead of Manchester City as the closest rival.
