Mixed rainfall is expected in the other regions.

Precipitation gradually turns into snow, especially in the mountainous area. At altitudes above 1,800 metres, wind intensifications will reach gust speeds of over 80-100 km/h, which will cause blizzards and snow shedding.”Elena Mateescu, director of the National Meteorological Administration (ANM), told Romanian TV.

According to the specialist, the rainfall regime will be excessive in most of the country, especially in the area of the Apuseni Mountains and in the north of the eastern Carpathians.

The lows will go negative in almost the whole country, being signs that they will fall just below zero, below minus 10 degrees Celsius, especially in depressions.

Mostly around 8 degrees Celsius

On Wednesday 14 December, the ANM announces that the sky will be temporarily cloudy, and in the evening and at night there will be local rainfall in the western half of the territory and in small areas in the rest. At first they will be mixed, then the rains will prevail, favoring the deposition of dust in small areas. In the mountains there will be mostly snow and sleet. The wind will intensify in the mountainous areas, with gusts of over 80 km/h on the ridges of the Southern Carpathians, locally and temporarily in Banat and Moldova and isolated in the rest of the territory.

Maximum temperatures will generally be between 1 and 8 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperatures – significantly higher than the previous night – will mostly be between minus 3 and 5 degrees Celsius. Especially in the morning hours, there will be fog in small areas.

In Bucharest, there will be foggy conditions in the morning and possible light rain during the night. A light to moderate wind will blow. The maximum temperature will be 6 degrees Celsius, and the minimum, definitely higher than the previous night, will be about 2 degrees Celsius.
