“When We Go To Stand Up To Gun Industry Lobbyists” – NBC4 Washington

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden addressed the country tonight after the massacre at a school in Texas that left 18 students and three adults deadaccording to Senator Roland Gutiérrez, who received the information from the Texas Rangers.

Biden spoke from the White House, after his arrival from his tour of Asian countries and was very tough on the arms industry.

“When are we going to stand up to gun industry lobbyists,” Biden said in his speech.

“When we passed the gun law, crimes went down and when it expired they went up again. In God’s name, why does anyone need an assault weapon? Do they go hunting animals with bulletproof vests? We have to have the courage to face the industry. I know that the majority of Americans support gun control laws,” said the president of the United States.

According to the latest reports, 18 children and three adults were killed in a shooting at a Texas elementary school on Tuesday, and the shooter, an 18-year-old man, was also killed.

“Since Sandy Hook there have been at least 900 incidents of armed attacks on schools, Florida, Michigan, Texas, the list goes on and on. When we talk about attacks on houses of worship, theaters, or what we recently saw in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. I’m fed up, we have to act,” Biden said.

“These incidents are not repeated in other parts of the world. They have the same mental health problems, they have internal disputes, but these types of massacres do not happen as often as in the United States, why do we continue to allow this? Where is the courage to stand up to lobbyists. It is time to turn pain into action,” said the president of the United States.

“God bless the innocent lives we lost on this sad day and may the Lord be with those whose spirits are broken. Because they are going to need a lot of help. God be with you”, concluded Biden without answering the questions of the journalists.

Veronica Luevanos has not heard from her daughter Jailah Nicole Silguero since the shooting at Robb Elementary School.

GOVERNOR ABBOTT’S WORDS

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said earlier that the shooter, a local resident, opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, about 85 miles west of San Antonio.

It is the deadliest school shooting in Texas history, and it comes four years after a person killed 10 people at Santa Fe High School in the Houston metropolitan area.

“He shot and killed 14 students in an incomprehensible way, and killed a teacher,” the governor declared at the time, although the figure later increased, adding that two policemen were shot but are expected to survive.

The attacker entered the school with a pistol, and possibly a rifle, and opened fire, Abbott said.

He said that the assailant was probably killed by police officers who arrived at the scene, but that the facts are still under investigation.
