You probably didn’t know this, but before the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Renault was the owner (majority shareholder) of the Russian group Avtovaz. Renault was also very well established in Russia, which was one of its biggest markets in the world. Only then did the situation change. The diamond brand was forced to sell its Moscow factory for a symbolic ruble and sell its stake in Avtovaz.
Lada Niva
Avtovaz, which now belongs to the Russian state, therefore flies by itself, and has decided to invest half a billion euros to relaunch its production in 2023. The group thus intends to produce no less than 400,000 cars of the Lada brand. Four models will be assembled: the Largus, the Granta, the Vesta and above all the 4×4 Niva, which has had a long career with us.
