When the weather is hot, Grab fares will increase

Previously, Grab also charged additional fees for rides during rush hour, late night, rain or flood. In addition, Grab in Vietnam also charges an additional fee of around 5,000 VND per ride during the period 30 March and 1-5 April 2022.

Then there is also a waiting fee, if the driver has to wait more than 5 minutes. Party Grab Vietnam said that this additional fee is expected to encourage more drivers to turn on their applications even though it is a hot day.

This hot weather surcharge is directly attached to the shipping rate.

“With this additional fee, we hope that this program can increase the income of drivers. In addition, there is also a program to give an additional 2% of the total income from each trip completed in one week. Then there is also a bonus program for completing a GrabFood or GrabMart order, ” he explained, quoted from the Vietnam Post, Monday (11/7/2022).

However, many consumers do not agree with the imposition of this additional fee. Consumers judge if this policy makes consumers lose.

Currently the price of gasoline has increased significantly. But when Grab was charging additional fees from the hot weather, consumers felt the policy was unreasonable.
