Jakarta –
The case of COVID-19 in Indonesia is at its worst, the cases are surging in various regions. The daily number of cases is at a record high, while the total number of cases has already touched 2 million.
Epidemiologist from the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia (FKM UI) Pandu Riono even said that Indonesia had herd stupidity, due to its neglect of the threat of COVID-19. An attitude that is very likely to lead to the peak of the second wave of COVID-19.
While COVID-19 still raging in Indonesia, it turns out that there are several countries that are actually free of masks. Six of them are as follows.
1. Israel
Israel has succeeded in controlling COVID-19 so that the transmission of transmission is no longer high. Israeli citizens have been able to move freely without masks since last April.
To achieve this, Israel has vaccinated 50 percent of its citizens. However, Israel still restricts foreign nationals from entering the country in order to avoid the spread of the new variant of COVID-19.
2. United States of America
The United States allows its citizens to remove masks after a COVID-19 vaccination.
In addition to vaccination, citizens of the United States are also given conditions by the United States Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) before going without a mask. Among them, already got two doses Corona vaccine, hang out with vaccinated friends, and avoid crowds.
3. Italy
As of June 28, Italy has allowed its citizens to move without a mask. Health Minister Roberto Speranza tweeted that areas that could apply the mask-free rule had to be in the COVID-19 ‘white zone’.
The Corona white zone in Italy indicates that the number of cases of COVID-19 infection is very low and the number of daily ICU patients at the hospital is below the risk threshold.
4. Bhutan
Despite its location on the border with India and China, Bhutan has managed to control COVID-19 without a strict lockdown. Bhutan has also managed to vaccinate more than 90 percent of the adult population in two weeks. Therefore, Bhutan no longer requires its citizens to wear masks outdoors.
