When the Citilink Pilot Becomes a Hero Before He Dies – 171 Passengers Congratulations

Surabaya

Indirectly, Citilink pilot Capt Boy Awalia (48) became a hero. Even though he was sick, he made the right decision to make an emergency landing and return to Juanda Airport. He was assisted by the co-pilot who managed to land the plane until 171 passengers survived.

Previously, the Citilink Q-307 flight from Surabaya to Makassar had an emergency landing at Juanda Airport, Surabaya because the pilot was sick. One of the passengers told a tense story when the cabin crew reported this emergency.

One of these tense stories was revealed by Wine through his Twitter account, @penikmattkata, Friday (22/7/2022). detikNews has received permission to quote this story.

Wine said he was a passenger on the Citilink Q-307 flight from Surabaya to Makassar. At that time Wine together with his wife and his two in-laws departed from Surabaya.

Wine has just carried out the marriage contract. He and his wife sat in seat numbers 24D & 24C. While the two in-laws sit in 24B & 24A. According to him, at that time everything was running normally. Even the take off process went smoothly without any problems.

“Initially everything went normally, the weather seemed friendly, the take-off went smoothly without any major problems,” said Wine in his tweet.

However, the situation then began to change when the flight attendant asked the passengers the question ‘is there anyone who works as a doctor or nurse?’. The passengers began to wonder.

“But after a few minutes in the air, suddenly the flight attendant asked the passenger, ‘is there a doctor or nurse on this flight?’ After a while there happened to be a doctor who was on board this flight, in our minds the passengers were wondering,” he said.

“What’s wrong? What happened? One of the passengers said ‘usually someone wants to give birth until they are called for medical assistance’, because we don’t know what is going on, we keep asking what is going on, who is sick or what the situation is like, ” he continued.

He described the state of the plane as changing at the time of the notification. The plane is like flying low and just circling on the water. The situation got even more tense when the flight attendant asked the question ‘is there a pilot who can fly a plane?’.

The tension builds when the crew asks if any passengers can take the plane, on the next page!
