“In A Violent Nature” has been making waves in the USA for some time as a brutal horror slasher. A sequel is already in the works. Now the first part, which was even praised by Stephen King, is finally coming to Germany.
“In A Violent Nature” was a surprise hit in US cinemas and is even already available for streaming. Many German horror fans have been wondering for a while when they will be able to see the slasher with its touted particularly drastic images and unusual perspective. Now we have an answer:
The rental company capelight brings “In A Violent Nature“ will be in German cinemas from October 24, 2024.
This is “In A Violent Nature”
The slasher by director Chris Nash does not focus on the victims as is usual in the genre. Instead of worrying about them, we follow the undead murderer Johnny for almost the entire film. He comes back to life when teenagers steal a medallion. Now he is determined to get it back and kill everyone in a cruel way.
The unusual approach of director Chris Nash was particularly well received by critics. Many enthusiastic reviews triggered a hype. On the review collection page RottenTomatoes “In A Violent Nature” has a strong Tomatometer score of 78%, which means that over three quarters of all reviews of the film are positive. However, on the so-called Popcornmeter, the film only has a score of 44%. The regular cinema audience is quite divided – reactions range from “garbage” to “masterpiece”because the sometimes brutal violent scenes occur within a rather leisurely narrative pace.
Stephen King was also impressed
But that makes you even more curious about the horror slasher. After all, you want to know which side of this discussion you are on. Horror legend Stephen King was quite impressed. Shortly after the US theatrical release on May 31, 2024, he shared his impressions on the short message service X (formerly: Twitter): “If you need a slasher film, this one will do the trick. It’s quiet, almost languid, but when the blood flows, it flows in streams. The killer in the mask looks like the scariest minion in the world.”
More about this terrifying killer has already been confirmed: „In A Violent Nature 2“ is already in the works.
