JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari admitted that he had been asked by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Azis Syamsuddin, to admit that he had given bribes to former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju in the amount of Rp. 8 billion.
This fact was revealed when the general prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Lie Putra Setiawan, read the minutes of the examination (BAP) belonging to Rita Widyasari at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) Jakarta, Thursday (12/23/2021).

It is known, Rita Widyasari was present as a witness in the trial of Azis Syamsuddin who was charged with giving bribes worth Rp. 3,099 billion and US$ 36,000, bringing the total to around Rp. 3,619 billion.
The bribe was given by Azis to former KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju and lawyer Maskur Husain for the management of KPK’s research on the matter in Lampung Tengah.
“I read out sister’s BAP (Rita) which said ‘the suspect Muhammad Azis Syamsuddin contacted me and said, Mother, please, if the KPK is examining it, just admit that the dollar that Robin disbursed in money changer it belongs to Mother’, is this true?” asked Prosecutor Lie.
“Yes, that’s right sir, over the phone. That’s right,” Rita replied.
“Yes, the point is that please acknowledge what was said and then I answered, ‘Yes, bro, I’ll think about it,'” Rita continued.
Rita explained that Azis Syamsuddin contacted her through a special telephone booth (wartelsus) provided at the Tangerang prison, where Rita Widyasari was being held.
