Every now and then, a product that is ahead of its time appears in the world of smartphones. Unfortunately, innovators often suffer from all the problems of “childhood” of a given technology. Therefore, their devices often not only do not achieve market success, but are also very negatively evaluated. It always makes me laugh when one company is criticized and ridiculed for its idea for the development of a smartphone, so that a few years later, exactly the same idea will become a general market success. This was the case of the infamous notch, for example, it was also the case of Nokia, which as one of the first to be released on the market commonly available smartphone with 5 lenses. The PureView 9 model was uphill from the very beginning, and unfavorable reviews did not help it sell well. It criticized the fact that the 5 cameras mentioned were a bit redundant, because Nonia did not take much better photos than the competition. So the question arose whether 5 cameras on a smartphone are needed at all. In 2020, we got the answer.
Samsung A72 – 5 cameras are already standard
Recently, we have received information that another medium from the Galaxy A line is to receive… 5 lenses on the back. Samsung Galaxy A 72 goes all the way and on the back it will have a 64 Mpix main lens (probably Quad Pixel), 12 Mpix wide-angle lens, 8 Mpix zoom module (in this model – 3x magnification), 5 Mpix macro camera and another 5 Mpix edge detector. For this 32 Mpix selfie camera. It is clear that Samsung knows what is selling and that 5 lenses will be the main advantage of this smartphone, just like 3 cameras were the advantage of the Galaxy A7 (2018).
