The name Tan Paulin suddenly popped up in a working meeting between the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif and Commission VII DPR RI. The emergence of this name then sparked a heated debate between Arifin Tasrif and members of Commission VII.

The name was mentioned by Member of Commission VII of the Democratic Faction Muhammad Nasir when discussing mining supervision. Initially, he said, coal was often stolen but the person was not arrested.

“There is also the problem of monitoring the mine, I don’t know where this inspector is, our stones keep disappearing, and until there is a mention of the queen of coal, but these people have not been arrested,” he said at a meeting, Thursday (1/13/2022). ).

“There was a name earlier, this is a production of 1 million 1 month, who is this person, but there is no ESDM report to us, his name is Tan Paulin. I said arrest this person, who is protecting this person,” he continued.

Nasir further said that the coal players had damaged infrastructure in East Kalimantan.

“This is stolen stone but it can be sold abroad, it’s a mess. Everyone knows that coal players and their mines were taken. When we visited East Kalimantan, this was discussed, sir. Because of him, all the infrastructure built by the local government was damaged,” he said.

Then, he touched on the flow of funds and ministries. Moreover, he said that the money generated by coal was quite large.

“Did this money reach the ministry? I don’t know either, right, because there are many, sir, 1 million (tons) per month for 1 month at a price of IDR 2.5 million for coal, IDR 2.5 trillion is the money,” he said.

Nasir also said that the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was just relaxed about the condition. Arifin Tasrif also cut what Nasir said.

“I think the father should speak the truth,” said Arifin.

“Yes, this is what I conveyed in East Kalimantan, sir,” said Nasir in a rising tone.

“Yes, I know I know that, but the others, please use the correct language,” replied Arifin.

Nasir said he was speaking with facts. Arifin denied, but what he said was not clear. The leader of the meeting, Chairman of Commission VII Sugeng Suparwoto also intervened.

“Actually, the message has arrived, submit what was conveyed earlier. I think other things that are not in proportion, I’m sorry, earlier it was stated about irregularities in the field that must be followed up immediately,” he said.
