The crowdfunding for Harry and Jerina – the losing couple of ‘House made’ – passed 100,000 euros on Sunday. The goal was 20,000 euros, enough to make an offer on the house they had renovated. But that goal was amply passed by VTM-watching Flanders.
Only ‘712 days to go’, reads the crowdfunding page for Harry and Jerina. However, the couple does not have to wait that long. 5377 times the Fleming felt deep into his pocket. Once 5 euros, once 500 euros. Thanks to all those little bits, the counter went over 100,000 euros on Sunday afternoon, an astronomical amount for the young parents who participated in ‘Home made’.
With the collected amount, the couple can pay a bank guarantee for the house in which they worked for eight months. “We really want to move into our renovated house. We are careful to keep our feet on the ground, but this is unreal. I am so moved by the goodness of all those people. People we don’t know.”
