When Kim Jong Un Cried, North Koreans Shed Tears Page all

PYONGYANG, KOMPAS.com – Citizen North Korea shed tears when their supreme leader, Kim Jong Un, cry while giving a speech.

Kim was so emotional during the military parade to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Korean Labor Party, which was held on Saturday last week (10/10/2020).

At the parade held at Kim Il Sung Square, Pyongyang, Kim unexpectedly apologized for not being able to do much to “get rid of the troubles of his people”.

He said North Korea was already facing “countless trials”, “formidable challenges”, including trying to tackle the coronavirus.

In a video broadcast by state news agencies, Kim Jong Un is seen removing his glasses and then wiping the dripping sorry water.

“Our people have hung their trust, as high as the sky, as deep as the ocean, but I failed. I failed to lift your satisfaction,” he said.

“For that, I apologize,” continued the leader who is the third generation of the Kim family, as reported Daily Mirror Monday (12/10/2020).

He said he had a very heavy responsibility to lead his predecessor from his two predecessors, Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

However, in his view his honesty and hard work were not enough to solve the difficulties of the North Korean people.

He then clapped his hands, which the audience at Kim Il Sung Square followed. Some of them were sobbing.

Kim then gave his greetings and support for the handling of the corona virus around the world, while claiming his country was free from the outbreak.

The supreme leader since 2011 also expressed his wish to join hands with neighboring South Korea if the pandemic ends.

Hong Min, Director of North Korea at the Korean Institute for National Unification told Korea Times said, Kim’s crying has a deep meaning.

“It’s important to see why he’s wiping his eyes. One thing is for sure, he’s starting to feel great pressure on his leadership,” said Hong.

The military parade which was allegedly held in the early hours of Saturday local time was also in the spotlight with the presence of Pyongyang’s new weapons.

North Korea exhibits an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which it claims is the largest mobile weapon after Russia’s Satan missile.
