When Kalle Lamberg’s big wish came true, speed blindness struck – “There was panic” –

So close, yet so far. 26-year-old Kalle Lamberg got The fall an unwanted message from the instructor.

– It was said that unfortunately they cannot take this scale into the program yet, because there are no screens, so to speak, Lamberg says now.

Theater stages had become familiar to Lamberg, but TV work always interested him more and more. Lamberg understood the decision, but it still saddened him.

– Opportunities are needed for new faces to appear. Fortunately, I got that opportunity myself.

Lamberg got his chance according to his words Tubeprogram in 2015. He thanks Jaakko Saariluomaa for that. In the context of the joint theater project, Lamberg had complained about how difficult it is to get the opportunity to show his nails.

– It wasn’t long after that when I was suddenly asked to go from the vertical forest to Tubi for one episode. In retrospect, it was awful. I was completely locked out. I was like an orphan boy who had been sent to a big city to earn a living for his family, Lamberg recalls.

After the filming, host Vappu Pimiä gave Lamberg encouraging words.

– He said that “it went really well and you are really fast”. That’s why I returned home as the mayor of Turku, that now the screens have been given. It gave a good boost.

The foot was in the gap in the door. Fire Rubberseries, fire Saturday Night Live.

Later, Lamberg was offered the opportunity to join the ranks of Putous, but then the actor missed the opportunity.

– I had done Saturday Night Livet and at that point it felt wrong. I tried not to just make characters all the time, says Lamberg.

Suddenly, Lamberg received job offers for doors and windows.

After the Saturday Night Live rehearsals, Lamberg, who works in touring theater, could take a plane to Oulu for a theater performance and return by night train to Helsinki for the live broadcast itself. After the live broadcast, he took a night bus to Turku, and after a two-hour night’s sleep, it was time to go to Tampere for filming.

– There was a panic. When there was demand, I wanted to do everything so that the work wouldn’t run out, Lamberg recalls.

Since then, Lamberg learned to say no sometimes. He said yes to the driving school and driver’s license.

The dream came true

In recent years, Lamberg has been a familiar face, among other things Stadi vs. Lande in the program and possession.

Good sidekick. This is how the industry has described Lamberg, who has been seen as a pair of presenters side by side.

– There is nothing wrong with that. You can throw jokes and other things in it. But a couple of years ago, the idea started to mature that it would be nice to be able to test how hosting would go on my own.

Self-confidence also grew in parallel with the dream.

See you now Lamberg Jeopardy!– as the host of the program. The traditional Yankee format landed in Finland already in the 2000s, but lost its anchor and disappeared after one season. Lamberg is now hoping for a longer sky for the Finnish version.

The essence of the format is that the presenter tells an answer to which the contestants try to find the answer as quickly as possible.

– After all, this has been quite well tested over there in the United States – 50 years. All possible versions have been made of it and this has been done in 40 different countries, says Lamberg.

– The tempo of the program is fast. There is a possibility of up to a hundred questions per episode, so this is very playable at home. During one episode, there will be at least five family disputes, Lamberg promises with a grin.

Lamberg prepared for the race by getting to know the backgrounds of the celebrity contestants.

– I also confidently asked to receive the answer-question batteries after they were finished. From there came a package with 2600 questions and answers. I thought that I could read these for once, Lamberg laughs.

“Old fashioned channel war”

Lamberg has been used to being seen as the face of the MTV3 channel in recent years. When asked, Lamberg admits that he hasn’t had time to think about whether the new channel will limit his work opportunities.

– At the moment I am with TV5, Warner, Max – however you want to say it.

– Let’s say that the channel war is not up to the creators, but I think it’s old-fashioned. Especially in this day and age, when it’s not terribly easy in this field either. There are enough authors, but there are not an awful lot of tasks, Lamberg reflects.

However, Lamberg is satisfied with his personal work situation.

– Work is important, but resources can be found in family and home, says Lamberg.

He has liked Maria-with his wife for more than 12 years. Soon the couple will go to Spain for three weeks to recharge their batteries.

– There is nothing to strive for or stress about in everyday life. When everything is good, you have to remember to enjoy it.
