There was an interesting moment when President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reviewed the Development Project for Supporting Residential Facilities for Tourism Areas, Kampung Baru, Labuan Bajo. Jokowi, who was accompanied by his wife Iriana, was offered to stay at a hotel that costs Rp. 100,000 per night.
The moment occurred when Jokowi and Iriana were visiting a kiosk as well as a homestay owned by local residents. Jokowi was offered a free stay by the homestay owner.
“If you stay overnight, it’s free, sir,” said Riyadi, the owner of Avifah’s kiosk and homestay when asked about the rates for the tourist lodge by the President, quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, Friday (22/7/2022).

The answer made Jokowi and Iriana smile and again asked how much the tourist lodge rates per night for tourists. Then, Riyandi replied that the rate to stay at his homestay was only IDR 100,000 per night.
“One hundred thousand rupiah per night, sir,” answered Riyadi.
Jokowi also entrusted Riyadi and also a number of owners of tourist cottages in Kampung Baru to maintain and maintain the facilities and infrastructure as well as buildings that have been repaired by the central government.
