The message to discipline the family is one of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) directions at the 2022 TNI-Polri leadership meeting. Jokowi asked the TNI-Polri families to be disciplined, including regarding WhatsApp groups.
The 2022 TNI-Polri leadership meeting will be held at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday (1/3/2022). This forum has the theme ‘TNI-Polri Ready to Support National Economic Recovery and Structural Reform’.
Jokowi, in his direction, reminded the TNI-Polri about national discipline. Jokowi also mentioned about the invitation to preacher, who initially discussed democracy and culture in the TNI-Polri.
“There is no such thing as a subordinate feeling free, not the same as a superior, eh, you can’t… by talking about democracy. There is no such thing as in the army, in the police, nothing. This kind of thing must be tightened again, so that people see and we can, we can also bring it to the direction of national discipline,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi also warned the wives of members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the National Police not to summon speakers. According to Jokowi, these activities must be coordinated by the respective units.
“It’s not only the fathers or mothers who work, but those at home are also the same. Be careful, our mothers are the same, the discipline must be the same. , gather other women, summon lecturers at will, in the name of democracy. Again, in the army, in the police, it can’t be like that. It must be coordinated by the unit, “added Jokowi.
Jokowi request that such details be considered by the units in the TNI-Polri. Jokowi does not want members of the TNI-Polri or their families to invite radical preachers.
“The unit must coordinate the little things that I said earlier, macro and micro. We have to take care of this micro as well. We suddenly invite radical lecturers, so it can’t be like that,” said Jokowi.
Then, Jokowi also asked the TNI-Polri WAG to be disciplined. Jokowi said he read the conversation at the TNI-Polri WAG.
“Also small things but we have to start being disciplined in the WA group. I saw (the conversation) in the WA group (TNI-Polri), because among myself, (it is considered) okay, be careful,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi warned that conversations at WAG that did not comply with TNI-Polri discipline were allowed to continue. He gave an example that one of the conversations in question was about the rejection of IKN.
“If this is allowed and continued, be careful. For example, talking about IKN (the national capital), ‘don’t agree, what IKN’. (The IKN transfer) has been decided by the government and has been approved by the DPR,” said Jokowi.
