When Jokowi Alluded to PAN’s Strategy to Approach Ganjar

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he had wondered why the National Mandate Party (PAN) held a national coordination meeting in Semarang, Central Java. Jokowi finally understood this as a strategy to approach the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo.

Initially, Jokowi brought up the issue of PAN’s position in Central Java in the 2019 election. He admitted that he was surprised because PAN did not have any seats in Central Java in the 2019 election.

“What surprised me was in Central Java. In Central Java, the order is 29, 29. So, in the past, the chairman said that Central Java always got 8, 8, 8, 8, but in 2019 you didn’t get it at all,” said Jokowi when remarks at the PAN National Coordination Meeting, as broadcast on YouTube PAN TV, Sunday (26/2/2023).

From there, Jokowi then connected with PAN which held a National Coordination Meeting in Central Java. He admitted that at first he wondered what the reason for the PAN National Coordination Meeting was to be held in Central Java.

“Last night I was wondering, why did the National Coordination Meeting win PAN in Central Java?” he said.

Jokowi also admitted that he finally got the answer. He said this was PAN’s strategy to approach regional heads in Central Java.

“I already have the answer now, I already have the answer, the strategy is ‘oh this is a strategy’, already, approaching Mr. Ganjar, approaching the regent/mayor, everything has been diverted, that’s correct,” he said.

For information, the PAN National Coordination Meeting was attended by a number of figures. Apart from the general chairman of PAN, Zulkifli Hasan, the Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohir, the governor of Central Java, was also present Ganjar PranowoMinister of State Secretary Pratikno.
