The change that Netflix has brought has left everyone who shares their accounts angry. This possibility ceased to exist and had to be done with the creation of a new member and the monthly payment of 3.99 euros. However, the new rule is not yet active here.
According to what has been mentioned in Spain, the changes will have already started. Although it hasn't reached everyone yet, there are users receiving notifications to confirm they are in your home when trying to use the streaming service.
Message appears on TVs outside the user's home
From what is described, this notification appears when accessing Netflix outside the home or outside your home network on the TV. A message is displayed that explains the difference and asks the user to change the scenario. Smartphones, tablets or PCs do not yet receive this message.
This blocking is not permanent and the user still has an alternative. Netflix offers the possibility of obtaining a code to verify identity, which can be received by email or SMS. Only then will it be possible to continue using Netflix in that location.
When will this news arrive in Portugal?
After confirmation is made, the service can continue to be used in that same location for a maximum of 14 days. It is not yet known what happens at that time, but as defined, access should be removed and can only be restored with the creation of a new member, with the associated cost.
The start of this control in Spain is not good news, as it should soon arrive in Portugal. The question is just when this will happen, given that many have canceled their accounts due to this change, which will even end account sharing, something that was instituted a long time ago.
