A few days ago there was tough news for them One–Piece-Fans among you: The anime is taking a break for almost six months in the middle of the exciting Egghead Arc. We’ll tell you here until when the break lasts and what replacement program Toei Animation has thought of for you.
When does the One Piece anime continue?
According to official information, One Piece is set to return after its long break in April 2025. This information confirms a video on One Piece’s official Japanese YouTube channel, where the description states that the hiatus lasts until March 30, 2025.
The anime then returns with the second part of the Egghead arcwhich was canceled right in the middle of the exciting events. We expect that things will then continue on the same channels as before.
This decision is understandable based on the manga alone, as it has only recently completed the Egghead Arc and is fresh into the Elban Arc. Slowly but surely the anime has come pretty close to the manga level. That’s why we’re happy for a break if it means missing out on some filler content (remember the Wano Kuni arc).

In the meantime there is a replacement program
In the same breath as the break announcement, Toei Animation directly reported on a replacement program. So you can still see One Piece in the cold winter months.
This is a special for the 25th anime anniversary, which will be released on 20 October 2024 is broadcast.

The Fishman Island Arc has been republished and told in a shortened and improved new version. The total of 21 episodes start from 27 October 2024 to the start. You can find out more about this here:
If the episodes are broadcast weekly without interruptions, then the 21 episodes will last until March 16, 2025. There is still no information as to whether and how the period will be bridged until the anime continues.
