From Star Wars to Tomb Raider, Fortnite has continued to push boundaries with its unrivaled crossovers in the video game industry. Midway through season six, this time it’s focused on real-world sports stars.
With soccer icon Neymar Jr. now in battle royale with his own skin, attention seems to be shifting to a new event on the horizon. Basketball is said to be the next exclusive event in Fortnite, as Epic Games is rumored to be working with the NBA.
With unique missions and rewards supposedly up for grabs, a limited-time Fortnite-NBA crossover could be on the horizon. This is what we know.
When is the Fortnite NBA event in season six?
The unique Fortnite event with the NBA will go live in the game on Wednesday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. Spanish time, according to information leaked by the dataminer ‘ShookPA‘.
It is not known exactly how long this unique collaboration will last. It could be a brief crossover or it could stay until season six ends on Monday, June 7. We will keep you posted here as details are confirmed.
How will the Fortnite NBA event work?
Although Epic Games has not done anything official, leaked files have revealed how exactly the NBA crossover will work in Fortnite.
When the event gets underway, players around the world will be able to choose their favorite NBA team. Once the option is chosen, players will earn points towards their franchise by completing daily tasks. It is not known what these objectives will look like, but it appears that they will be limited to the playlist of team battles.
If you get three of these daily tasks, you will get the Grand Champion Spray. Additionally, the top three teams in the NBA at the end of the event will secure some rewards for all players who carry their banners.

At the time of this writing, Epic has yet to confirm any details regarding the possible NBA event.
