Battlefield 6 is rumored to be playing again in the present, according to unconfirmed rumors.

“We saw the first version of the Battlefield reveal trailer. It becomes an incredible first impression of this groundbreaking game. I think the fans will love it, «writes EA studio boss Laura Miele euphorically. Of course, it is not surprising that the publisher chooses exuberant words for their own project.

But one thing is certain: A trailer for Battlefield 6 already exists. Now the only question left is when we can finally see him for ourselves! So far, the manufacturer has only roughly given the spring 2021 as the reveal date. We are trying to narrow down the time frame and therefore take a very close look at the DICE and EA schedules.

A look at EA’s schedule

Traditionally, Battlefield games are unveiled before major trade fair appearances such as E3 (or EA’s own show EA Play) – first with a short clip and then via trailer. The events are usually followed by more in-depth details and the first real game scenes, often even where to play. This is how it went in the last few years:

Battlefield 5

Teaser: Friday May 18, 2018

Trailer: Wednesday May 23, 2018

BF5 on EA Play: Saturday 9th June 2018

Battlefield 1

Teaser: Tuesday 03 May 2016

Trailer: Friday 06 May 2016

BF1 on E3: Monday June 13, 2016

We assume that EA will continue to follow its basic reveal strategy in this pattern.

A great uncertainty factor However, the corona pandemic and its effects on the industry are likely to be: In 2020, the EA Play event was held purely digitally on June 18. So far it is unclear whether and when this model will be repeated.

E3 & Trade Fairs 2021: Dates for PC gamers

What does that mean for Battlefield 6?

If you take all the factors into consideration, we can derive an initial forecast for the reveal date – and logically move in the realm of speculation.

  • Teaser-Clip: The first sign of life should hit sometime between May 6 and 14, 2021. May 4th is Star Wars Day. This date and the following day are mostly occupied by Disney announcements. So here you would have an unnecessary fight for attention with BF6, especially since EA itself produces Star Wars games (and may have something to announce).
  • First trailer: Since there are usually around three to five days between the teaser and the trailer, it would make sense to release the trailer on weekdays (trailers never appear on weekends) between May 11 and 21, 2021. A later date could be too close to the EA Play presentation.
  • Gameplay & Details: The first or, at the latest, second week of June are the most sensible dates for the detailed presentation of BF6. Since the (digital) E3 for the 15./16. June is scheduled, this would possibly be a suitable setting for play-out sessions, interviews and more.
  • Release: EA has already announced the classic autumn and Christmas business as the period for the launch of BF6. We therefore expect Battlefield 6 between the end of October and the end of November.

It was recently announced that three different developer studios are now working on Battlefield 6 and that even other major EA brands are being pushed back. You bet all possible resources for the game one, so EA.

In our big overview, we also summarize what is known about Battlefield 6 so far.
