When is fatigue a sign of “Covid-19”, a cold or the flu?

You may feel tired when you have a covid-19 infection, a cold, or the flu, according to the World Health Organization. This makes it more difficult to determine the real cause of this sudden feeling.

When you start to feel a little tired, it’s important to pay attention to all of your symptoms in the meantime, so you know if the cause of the fatigue is a cold, the flu, or covid-19.

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing:

One of the hallmarks of Covid-19, which requires emergency calls, is shortness of breath, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

Shortness of breath is a medical emergency, and these symptoms do not occur if you have a cold or the flu. This means that when fatigue appears along with shortness of breath, it can often indicate a Covid-19 infection.

It’s common to sneeze if you have a cold, but it won’t happen if you have the flu or the coronavirus, so fatigue associated with sneezing often indicates a cold.

Covid-19, the common cold, and the flu share similar symptoms when it comes to:

– Fatigue

– cough

– Aches and pains

– Sore throat

– fever

Colds are more likely to cause nasal blockage unlike coronavirus.

Diarrhea, although rare, has been reported in Covid-19 patients, while it can occasionally occur in children with influenza. Diarrhea does not occur due to the common cold.

Headaches are especially common when you have the flu, and can happen when you have Covid-19.

However, headaches are rare when you have a cold.
