Café Venecia is one of the historic hotel establishments in Santiago. It was founded in 1962 by Mercedes Santos, who died last Christmas, and her husband, Antonio de Toro, who died in 2008. They both managed to make this mythical cafeteria, on Rúa do Hórreo, 27, become one of the favorite places of students and families, especially for their breakfasts and a coffee that continues to be renowned at the national level by the hand of the son of this entrepreneurial couple, Óscar de Toro, who took over the reins of the family business in 1994.
