TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto looked embarrassed when the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan praised himself for being close to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. When Budi mentioned that some of Jokowi’s aura had moved to Prabowo, the General Chair of the Gerindra Party looked sullen to Jokowi who was sitting next to him.
Budi’s words and Prabowo’s body gestures which were broadcast on the big screen elicited applause from the guests present. Budi conveyed this at the inauguration of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) Building in Jayapura, Papua today.
“Everyone is starting to see an aura of Pak Jokowi, some of whom have moved to Pak Prabowo,” said Budi in the PYCH inauguration video that Tempo obtained, Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Budi said that Prabowo often accompanies him Jokowi recently made it possible for the public to see and meet the figure of the Minister of Defense.
“We have all observed that lately Mr Prabowo often travels with Mr President Jokowi, Pak Prabowo has also stated several times that Pak Jokowi is his teacher, his teacher,” Budi said.
Final, Budi Gunawan pray that Prabowo will always be healthy and be successful in the 2024 election contestation.
Jokowi invites Prabowo to tour Indonesia
Previously, during a visit to South Kalimantan, Prabowo Subianto also attended Jokowi’s event when he attended the Istigasah and Rabithah Malay-Banjar Joint Prayer at the Tabalong Shining Pendopo Complex.
A week earlier during a working visit to Kebumen, Central Java on Thursday, March 9 2023, Jokowi also invited Prabowo to take part in a rice harvest event in Lajer Village, Ambal District. Jokowi invited his minister and showed off togetherness.
After coming from the fields, Jokowi also invited Prabowo to visit the market in Kebumen. Bey Machmudin explained that Prabowo’s reason for following Jokowi’s agenda there was because the General Chair of the Gerindra Party had an agenda close to the President’s location.
“The president invited Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto on a working visit to Central Java because on the same day Pak Prabowo has a work agenda to Magelang in the afternoon,” said Bey when contacted, Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Bey explained, Jokowi wanted Prabowo to understand the problems in the field faced by farmers. Jokowi feels Prabowo needs to know this, because the general chairman of the Gerindra Party has been given the task of handling a food estate in Central Kalimantan.
In the circulating photos, Jokowi, Prabowo Subianto and the Governor of Central Java can be seen Ganjar Pranowo very familiar when observing the rice harvest process. Ganjar and Jokowi even took turns asking the farmers for selfies. Ganjar was also seen joking with Jokowi and Prabowo several times.
