Jakarta –
Chairman of DPP Front Pembela Islam (REIT) Slamet Maarif responded to Pangdam Jaya’s statement, Maj. Gen. TNI Dudung Abdurachman, that FPI could be dissolved if it did not comply with the regulations. Slamet then advised that the TNI be founded by ulama.
Initially, Pangdam Jaya was Maj. Gen. TNI Dudung Abdurachman speak up about the viral video showing billboards with the face of Habib Rizieq Syihab being lowered by a man in striped uniform. Major General Dudung stated that the reduction of billboards was on his orders.
“There is a shirt with stripes to lower Habib Rizieq’s billboard, that’s my order. Because how many times Pol PP has lowered it, it has been raised again. My order is that,” said Major General Dudung, Friday (20/11).
Dudung said that all parties must obey the existing laws in Indonesia. In fact, Dudung said, if FPI did not obey the law, it could be dissolved.
“Well, if anyone in this republic, this is a state of law, must obey the law, if there are clear rules for billboards, there are tax payments, and a place is determined, don’t go around it yourself, as if he is the most correct, there is none. Don’t try to point it out. If necessary, FPI just dissolve it, just dissolve it. If you try it with the TNI, come on, “he said.
On the Pangdam Jaya statement, the Chairman of the DPP FPI Slamet Maarif raised his voice.
FPI Chairperson Reminds TNI to Establish Ulama
Slamet said there are rules that apply in this legal state regarding the dissolution of the FPI.
“This is a rule of law, everything has rules of the game,” Slamet told reporters, Friday (20/11/2020).
Slamet asked the TNI not to be pitted against the ulama. He also talked about the people and the TNI who have one heart in defending the Republic of Indonesia.
“I advise the TNI that the TNI was founded by the ulama (General Sudirman), and has always been united with Muslims. So the TNI does not want to be pitted against clerics and Muslims. I am sure that the TNI will remain in harmony with the ulama and Muslims to defend the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
Regarding the billboard with the face of Habib Rizieq being lowered, Slamet said that it was the people who took the initiative to install it. Slamet did not question the reduction in billboards.
“The thing that must be remembered is the people who put up billboards, not FPI. The banner that has been removed is the welcome banner of IB HRS, and he is already in the country, so it doesn’t matter if the TNI helps Satpol PP,” said Slamet.
