Manufacturers of racing cars and supersports, especially the Italian ones, take similar steps often. They will take an FIA-bound racing model, in this case a Ferrari 488 GT3 and 488 GTE, and drive it to the limits of its own capabilities. Suddenly, they create their very top version.

In this particular case, a car that is not homologated for road traffic or official races is called the Ferrari 488 GT Modificata. Only the most selected customers from the Competizioni GT club will be able to use it, and only on circuit days or selected Ferrari events. Given the parameters of the car, it is clear why the Ferrari model will not sell to “everyone”.

Under the hood of the 488 GT Modificata, a modified V8 engine thunders, which now produces around 700 horsepower, but Ferrari did not give the exact figure. Engineers have also installed a new clutch that is made of carbon due to its strength. The transmission has different ratios than the racing version and the aerodynamics are adjusted. The icing on the cake are the new brakes from Brembo.

An important aspect of the car will of course be the price, which Ferrari also refused to tell the world. He will probably keep it only for his selected customers, who traditionally pay tens of millions of crowns for similar cars. It is not clear how many copies the Italians will make.
